Internalized Futures: The Impact of Race-Related Interactions among Black Adolescents in High School Settings

This project will analyze qualitative data from semi-structured interviews of Black adolescents describing their experiences of race, racism, and racial discrimination in secondary school settings. The project will use racial identity development and socio-ecological theories to provide a framework for understanding how racialized experiences in school settings can lead to racial trauma and thus, influence critical stages of growth and development.
